FAQ's
What is the relationship between Channel-Markers Medical and CareTria?
Channel-Markers Medical has partnered with CareTria to deliver the Rx-Direct Program through CareTria Provider Connect. Providers can log in to CareTria Provider Connect to electronically prescribe TriVisc® and GenVisc® 850 using integrated e-prescribing functionality powered by DoseSpot. CareTria's pharmacy partner, Eagle Pharmacy, offers exclusive discounted pricing for these products.
How do I get started with e-Prescribing with Rx-Direct?
Step 1: Register Your Practice for CareTria Provider Connect
CareTria Provider Connect is the platform used to submit Rx-Direct enrollments and electronically prescribe TriVisc® and GenVisc® 850.
Register here: https://harmoknee.support/
Step 2: Complete Provider Identity Verification (Required for e-Prescribing)
Each prescribing provider must complete a one-time Identity Proofing Process (IDP) to activate e-prescribing capabilities.
Why is this required?
Identity proofing is a federal requirement for electronic prescribing platforms. It helps verify the identity of prescribing providers before electronic prescriptions can be submitted. This is a one-time requirement for Rx-Direct.
Step 3: Start e-Prescribing via CareTria Provider Connect!
Please allow at least 24 hours after completing or linking existing ID.me accounts to submit the provider’s first prescription.
How do providers complete Identity Verification (IDP) for e-Prescribing?
Providers complete the one-time Identity Proofing (IDP) through ID.me.
Providers with a DEA Number
-
Providers who have a DEA number are encouraged to complete IDP using the following link: https://hosted-pages.id.me/dosespot-epcs
-
Note: During the verification process, the provider's DEA number is used as part of the identity verification workflow. This often eliminates the need to provide a Social Security Number (SSN), which some providers may prefer not to share.
Providers without a DEA Number
-
Providers who do not have a DEA number should complete IDP using the following link: https://api.id.me/en/session/new
-
Note: Providers without a DEA number may be asked to provide additional information as part of ID.me's standard identity verification process.
Additional Information
- IDP can be completed from a mobile device or computer.
- Most providers complete the process in approximately 5-10 minutes.
- IDP is a one-time requirement for each prescribing provider.
- Once verification is complete, providers can begin using the integrated e-prescribing workflow within CareTria Provider Connect within 24 hours.
What is ID.me and why am I being asked to use it?
ID.me is a secure digital identity verification platform used by healthcare, government, and financial organizations to verify identities online.
As part of the e-prescribing process, CareTria's integrated e-prescribing partner, DoseSpot, utilizes ID.me to verify the identity of prescribing providers.
Important: Identity verification is a federal requirement for electronic prescribing platforms and is not specific to CareTria, DoseSpot, or the Rx-Direct Program.
My provider already has an ID.me account. Do they need to complete IDP again?
Not necessarily.
If a provider already has an ID.me account and has previously verified their identity through ID.me, they may be able to reuse their existing verification.
The provider should log in using their existing ID.me credentials through the appropriate IDP link below and authorize DoseSpot to access their verified identity credentials.
Providers with a DEA Number
- Use the DEA verification link: https://hosted-pages.id.me/dosespot-epcs
Providers without a DEA Number
- Use the non-DEA verification link: https://api.id.me/en/session/new
How long does Identity Proofing (IDP) take?
The IDP process typically takes 5-10 minutes to complete.
However, providers should plan to complete IDP at least 24 hours before they intend to submit their first e-prescription.
While most verifications are completed quickly, additional processing time may occasionally be required to validate credentials, link verification records, or resolve verification issues.
Best Practices
- Complete or link the provider's ID.me account as soon as (or before) the CareTria Provider Connect account is established.
- Allow at least 24 hours before the first planned e-prescription.
- Do not wait until a prescription is ready to be submitted.
Does each provider need to complete Identity Proofing (IDP)?
Yes. Every provider who will issue e-prescriptions through CareTria Provider Connect must complete the one-time Identity Proofing Process (IDP) to activate e-prescribing capabilities.
Can office staff complete IDP on behalf of a provider?
No.
Identity Proofing (IDP) must be completed directly by the prescribing provider. Because IDP is a federally required identity verification process, office staff cannot complete the verification on a provider's behalf.
Office staff may assist with registration, account setup, and sharing instructions, but the prescribing provider must personally complete the identity verification process.
What can patients expect after a prescription is submitted?
After a prescription is submitted through CareTria Provider Connect, it is securely transmitted to Eagle Pharmacy for processing.
Patients can generally expect the following:
- Prescription Review
- Patient Outreach
- Order Processing
- Medication Shipment
- Ongoing Status Updates
Eagle Pharmacy reviews the prescription and enrollment information to ensure all required information has been received.
Patient will receive a text message and/or email guiding them to payment
If additional information is needed, Eagle Pharmacy may contact the patient directly.
Once all required information is received, the prescription is processed and prepared for shipment.
The medication is shipped directly to the physician’s office
Practice staff can monitor prescription progress through CareTria Provider Connect and view available status updates throughout the fulfillment process.
Important: Processing and delivery timelines may vary based on prescription completeness, patient responsiveness, shipping requirements, and pharmacy processing times.
Do I still need to fax the HarmoKnee enrollment form once I submit an e-prescription?
No. Practices participating in e-prescribing for the Rx-Direct Program complete the required enrollment information directly within CareTria Provider Connect as part of the e-prescription submission process. The enrollment form is then transmitted electronically to Eagle Pharmacy, eliminating the need to fax a separate enrollment form.
Please Note:
Faxing a standalone HarmoKnee enrollment form remains available as an alternative option if needed but is not required when submitting prescriptions through CareTria Provider Connect.

Electronic Benefit Verifications (eBV) and Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) streamline access at the point of care, reducing delays and minimizing administrative friction before a patient ever leaves the provider’s office.
Rx-Direct
The Rx-Direct enrollment experience can pre-populate validated information, helping reduce missing-information workflows that can delay time to treatment. The enrollment also includes an embedded electronic prescribing platform, allowing the prescription to be sent directly to the pharmacy while seamlessly connecting the enrollment and prescription together. This helps reduce administrative friction and supports a faster overall time to treat.
In addition, the platform leverages secure technology with data protected both at rest and in transit. It also includes a secure, efficient identity-proofing process to help protect prescriber identity, preserve prescribing authority, and reduce the risk of fraudulent prescriptions.
